Ingredients
- Red Lentil(Arhar dal) soaked
- 1 cup eggplant(baingan) or carrot chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon Asafoetida(hing) powder
- 3 tablespoon sambar powder
- Oil
- Salt to taste
- 2 Onions chopped
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- Tamarind(imli) soaked in warm water
Method of Making Sambar
- Heat red lentil with water and cook for 5 minutes.
- Now in a bowl mash the lentil and tamarind pulp.
- Take a pan and add oil.To it add mustard seeds,curry leaves,onions and sambar powder and saute for 1-2 minutes.
- To it add sliced vegetables and lentil.Mix well
- Cook for another 6-7 minutes.
- Garnish with Coriander leaves.
- Sambar is ready.
